چکیده

Tikhonov regularization is applied to the inversion of EEG potentials. The discrete model of the inversion problem results from an analytic technique providing information about extended intracranial distributions, with separate current source and sink positions. A three-layered concentric sphere model is used for representing head geometry. The selected regularization parameter is the minimizer of the product of the norm of the Tikhonov regularized solution and the norm of the corresponding residual. The simulations performed indicate that this regularization parameter selection method is more robust than the empirical Composite REsidual and Smoothing Operator approach, in cases where only gaussian measurement noise exists in the discrete inverse model equation. Therefore the minimum product criterion can be used in real Evoked Potentials’ data inversions, for the creation of brain electrical activity tomographic images, when the amount of noise present in the measured data is unknown.

Application Research of Wavelet Fusion Algorithm in Electrical Capacitance Tomography

Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) technology has the softfield nature and the ill-posed problems. To solve the problem of low imaging quality by standard Tikhonov regularization, a wavelet fusion algorithm based on Tikhonov regularization is proposed in this paper. Firstly, Tikhonov regularization method is used to solve ill-posed characteristic of system inverse problem, then the initial...

A Regularization Parameter for Nonsmooth Tikhonov Regularization

In this paper we develop a novel criterion for choosing regularization parameters for nonsmooth Tikhonov functionals. The proposed criterion is solely based on the value function, and thus applicable to a broad range of functionals. It is analytically compared with the local minimum criterion, and a posteriori error estimates are derived. An efficient numerical algorithm for computing the minim...

An Efficient Method for Model Reduction in Diffuse Optical Tomography

We present an efficient method for the reduction of model equations in the linearized diffuse optical tomography (DOT) problem. We first implement the maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimator and Tikhonov regularization, which are based on applying preconditioners to linear perturbation equations. For model reduction, the precondition is split into two parts: the principal components are consid...

Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) attempts to image the permittivity distribution of an object by measuring the electrical capacitance between sets of electrodes placed around its periphery. Image reconstruction in ECT is a nonlinear ill-posed inverse problem, and regularization methods are needed to stabilize this inverse problem. The reconstruction of complex shapes (sharp edges) and ab...

Electrical Impedance Tomography Image Reconstruction Using Iterative Lavrentiev and L-Curve-Based Regularization Algorithm

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a technique for determining the electrical conductivity and permittivity distribution inside a medium from measurements made on its surface. The impedance distribution reconstruction in EIT is a nonlinear inverse problem that requires the use of a regularization method. The generalized Tikhonov regularization methods are often used in solving inverse pro...
